It's odd waking up in the penthouse of Motel Capri. The owner was nice enough to let us stay with them after a mix up with our room. I woke up to the sound of someone walking out the door of the place. We were staying with them in our own room. It's obvious they the family lives here, there were pictures of the family hanging from the walls and the furniture wasn't motel style instead it was asian influence. I think the owner of the motel was Filipino.

We picked up Eugene and had brunch at Universal before heading to Valencia to check out some shops. I love the quirkiness of the shops here, a mix of hipster coffee shops, bars, antique shops, book stores and crafty art shops. A shop that stood out was a taxidermy/garden shop that had lots of weird, quirky skeletons, bugs, tools and preserved animals.
We dropped off Eug and headed out to LA but not before making a quick stop at Huf, a SF street/skate shop.
We spent a few hours driving down the coast on Highway 1 and saw some phenomenal views, I recommend you do it.
We finally got to Santa Monica at 11:30. Tomorrow we're going to Venice Beach
